Located on the western alluvial fan just north of Yountville in the Oakville AVA, Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper was originally part of a large piece of land owned by Yountville namesake, George C. Yount. Purchased by Charles Hopper (who gifted the land to his daughter Missouri in 1877), the site was planted to wine grapes, plums, and walnuts.

Block B is a 10.45-acre parcel situated in the center of the “G3” site. It was planted with clone 4 in 1999, which is well-suited to Rutherford’s alluvial soils. Known for growing tight clusters of large berries, it produces wines with a pronounced, velvety texture.
